Todd Lynn's sixth instalment at London Fashion Week saw the designer to rock's royalty reinvent his signature tailoring for AW09. Realised entirely in black and white, this was a razor sharp collection full of contrasts.
Silhouettes were long and lean with austere Edwardian-esque details. Leather polo necks were worn beneath slim wool jackets and textures were interplayed – the gloss facing the tactile, as seen in narrow wool pants with leather panelling.
Details were precise – straps with lattice fringing ran parallel to trouser pockets and repetitive buttoning on trouser legs and jacket arms gave the collection a buttoned up austere feel.
Adding to Todd's vision of hard elegance, Swarovski crystals swathed butter soft leather jackets and shirtfronts, while jet-black beads cascaded from satin scarves.
Looks like dark romance is back for AW09!
