A fresh colour palette has been a consistent theme in the New York Fashion Week shows so far, and Thakoon was no exception, presenting a collection of crisp clean whites, chambray blues and lavender.
It was a departure from his up-town girl aesthetic as more tailored separates crept into the collection alongside sporty, lighter-than-air white cotton biker jackets, simple shifts, denim flares and waistcoats. Sheer sculptural blouses and slightly oversized men's suit jackets and tailored trousers also took to the catwalk in place of more traditional summer dresses.
It was a harmonious collection of garments edgy enough to for us to love, but still classic in it's execution – the best of both worlds! Bright, beachy and perfect for spring/summer 11.
