Last night, we put on our favourite heels and joint the art cognoscenti at the opening of Vladimir Restoin-Roitfeld's first London exhibition which showed the vibrant, chaotic works of Nicolas Pol.

The son of French Vogue's Carine Roitfeld, the fashion elite were out in full force to show their support.

There was POP’s Dasha Zhukova who shone in the dreamiest of dresses from Rodarte and the lovely and ever-so-stylish Caroline Sieber who was sporting a beaded number by NEWGEN designer Mark Fast.

Hugging her jacket around her shoulders because she felt self-conscious in her racy dress, the super-stylist enthused about what "a sweet and charming guy" Mark was, and shared that her favourite thing about Paris were the shoes at Valentino and Chanel.

We had to stop and snap Giovanna Battaglia who quite literally stole the show in head-to-toe red Givenchy! She was excited about the Frieze Art Fair – "lots of art and lots of parties," she said smiling.

One of our fashion heroes, we couldn't resist introducing ourselves to Carine. But apart from revealing that her amazing sculptural pendant was Cesar and letting us feel how heavy it was, she didn't want to talk about herself. "Tonight is all about the art of my son, and I am just a proud mother," she said.

And proud she should be! After working on the exhibition since June and quite literally working 24/7 to find The Old Dairy space, design it, and make sure the paintings were hung just so, Vladimir's show opened to much applause.

After a few straight vodka's, we found ourselves contemplating Nicolas' pictures with Pam Hogg and Alison Mosshart of The Kills who told us that she'd contemplate buying one if only her walls were big enough!

The lovely Christopher Kane was a fan too but with the arrival of Tom Ford and so many gorgeous looking people about, much like us, he found it hard to keep his eyes on the paintings for long.
