It was a whole lot of confetti fun at Band of Outsiders, as the outdoor SoHo space, complete with faux forest backdrop, erupted into a shower of multicoulour paper, falling dreamily over models lined against an exposed brick wall for designer Scott Sternberg’s spring show.

As usual, Sternberg sent out covetable wardrobe basics – the very thing that his men’s and womenswear have become known and loved for – in a selection of both sweetly feminine and boyish cuts. To kick off the show, girls stepped out in chic black and white cinched-waist full-skirted dresses, the looks topped off with adorable straw porkpie hats – perfect for a weekend in The Hamptons.

For spring, the vision was haphazard. There was a lot going on, from the preppy sportswear and menswear tailoring, to fetish leather looks including harnesses and femine 50s doll-like silhouettes, through to a dramatic guns-blazing lone-ranger style floor-length coat-dress.

Sternberg is clearly not afraid to combine his influences and there was plenty to love. We have to admit, we’ve already got quite a Band of Outsiders wish-list happening for next spring!
