It was all playfully prim and proper at London’s beloved label Preen’s New York show yesterday. Inspired by Edwardian writer Virginia Woolf and the rest of the elegant Bloomsbury set, geometric pastel prints with frills, crochet, and contrasting paisley-like black motif details hit their catwalk for SS12.
Super pretty sorbet multi-hued grid-print dresses and separates, complete with ruffled waists, frilly collars and flashes of fluoro, had the timeless appeal we’ve come to expect from design duo Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi’s label.
We were particularly loving the chic and fresh mix of colour, like the cornflower blue trousers and lemon yellow blouse paired together, and strawberries and cream dresses with hint of 60s floral paisley print – and the final muticololour geometric sequin pieces are just perfect for a disco party night!
As expected, there were plenty of fashion's it-girls in the audience, including Leith Clark, Leigh Lezark and Kate Lanphear who we're sure also want to get their hands on a piece of Preen come SS12.
