The style set has been going mad for these Pomp de Franc cakes, made by stylist Katie Franklin. Katie uses fashion as inspiration for her cake designs and has already been commissioned to make special pieces for a whole hoard of fashion folk.
Taking clothes as a starting point, these highly intricate and colourful cakes interpret the work of some of our favourite designers. Katie uses the colours and shapes of the original designs and translates them into amazing concept cupcakes. Take her apple and pistachio cupcakes, inspired by Alex Noble.
This Fred Butler Battenberg cake has to be our favourite! It was made earlier this year to celebrate The W Project, an all female art exhibition to mark 100 years of International Women’s Day. The cake was displayed as part of the project, proving that sometimes there is a very fine line between food and art.
The Pomp de Franc Society successfully fuses two of our favourite things: fashion and yummy cupcakes. What’s not to love?
