Farm-to-table restaurants are trendy in NYC right now (see: The Smile, Vinegar Hill, The Dutch…) but how about forest-to-fashion show? That's Katie Gallagher's aim with this collection, which features long black dresses made of scalloped vinyl fabrics that sound like rustling leaves when they move, shadow-colored leggings dyed like bark, and creamy leather bombers. "These actually come from the woods near my parents' house in Pennsylvania," says Katie, "The leather is deerskin and my dad and uncle tanned the hides for me. I don't like hunting but I think it's best to use the whole animal if you're going to do it." See her show illustration, which looks rather like Tim Burton's The Corpse Bride, below.
