The late Helmut Newton's photographs for French Vogue are the stuff of fashion fantasy. We are huge fans of his here at Topshop, and every one of his images captures the extreme glamour of the 50s and 60s. Just looking  his photos makes us want to dress up like a femme fatale! Helmut often worked with Yves Saint Laurent, shooting women in the designer's iconic creations to produce the kind of fashion photographs that last forever – like the inimitable 'Le Smoking' tuxedo picture.

Now is the time for fans of Helmut Newton to get very excited indeed – for the first time ever, a huge retrospective of his work is now on show at the Grand Palais in Paris. This exhibtion features so much of Helmut's brilliant photographs, including his portraits of moviestars and dreamworthy fashion editorials. The show has been curated by Helmut's wife June, so there are some previously unseen photographs as well as a film she made about his life so be prepared to get a real insight into the life of a legend. What we love most about Newton images is that nearly every one depicts a powerful, stylish woman – perfect for when you need an injection of inspiration!

Whether you are lucky enough to live in Paris or happen to be visiting soon, this exhibition is an absolute must for fashion fans. It runs from now unil 17th June at The Grand Palais, so here at Topshop we're booking our Eurostar tickets as we speak…
