If you're anything like us, you'll love hearing about what other girls get up to! And that's why we catch up with one of the stylish girls working at Topshop towers each month. Quizzing them about their job, taste in fashion and finding out their insider secrets, we hope you'll be inspired! This month we chatted to Holly Burgess, who told us all about her life as a Brand Marketing Co-ordinator for Topshop.

My job title is… Brand Marketing Co-ordinator

And that means… I work on some really great projects for Topshop, everything we do should strengthen Topshop’s brand image. We work really closely with our creative, PR and online teams to come up with exciting new marketing campaigns. In our team, I help look after Charity, Personal Shopping, London Fashion Week, designer collaborations and special adhoc projects.

I studied… Product Design and Development at London College of Fashion

I got my job by… gaining experience as a Style Advisor for Topshop whilst at uni, this way I learnt so much about the brand and it taught me that this was the place I wanted to be. I went and took a job somewhere else after I had graduated to gain experience in Marketing and communication, then just kept trying to get back into Topshop until it worked!

In a typical working day I… work on different projects, a bit of juggling is always needed. The fast paced environment is great and I can go from Personal Shopping meetings, to coming up with new ideas for our charity products, overseeing online shoots, to working on big proposals for London Fashion Week.

The best thing about my job is… the team I work with, and the fact that I get to work for my favourite brand everyday, it doesn’t get much better than that.

When I was growing up I wanted to be… a fashion designer.

I couldn’t do my job without… an ice cold can of diet coke at 3pm!

My advice to students hoping to crack the fashion industry would be… say ‘yes’ more than you say ‘no’, and get as much experience as possible. Even if some teach you what you don’t want to do, all aspects of this industry are so different so it's great experience.

My signature style is… well my fashion heart has stayed firmly in the 90’s. I love a good floaty dress with a vintage tee and leather jacket.

When I’m in London, my hottest hang-outs are… as cheesy as it is I love Rowans Bowling lanes in Finsbury Park, it’s an unsung hero of the bowling world! It reminds me of being 15 again. I also love a walk around Crouch End or Stoke Newington, a good piece of cake on a Saturday afternoon. Meat Liquor and Bodega Negro are my current favourite places to eat. I’m also looking forward to a trip to Brixton market to sample the amazing food there as I still haven’t been.

And when I’m in my hometown in Surrey I love hanging out at… the local pubs in the village where I went to school, it’s typically ‘English eccentric’ with pram races and all sorts!

I can’t live without… my extensive collection of clothes, family and friends, Diet Coke and peanut butter M&M’s.

My favourite magazine is… there are too many I can’t pick one. Heat is my guilty pleasure, but I love Vogue, Elle and Lula.

I love grabbing my lunch from… Tortilla or Benitos Hat, burrito Fridays!!

On my iPod right now is… Beyonce, Sleigh Bells and The Beach Boys

As a special treat, I love to…  go on holiday, I have a weakness for California, it’s an expensive habit.

In five years I’d like to be… still working at Topshop, heading up my own team. Failing that on a beach in LA.
