This month we caught up with HR Assistant, Amy Gerami from Cheshire to give you another insight into the world of Topshop HQ. Read on to find out exactly what the job entails, how she got there and which hero piece she thinks we should all be wearing this AW12…

My job title is… Topshop HR Assistant

And that means… I provide support and advice to Topshop and its employees.

I studied… Journalism to Masters level.

I got my job by… Networking and gaining lots of HR experience!

In a typical working day I… Am the first point of contact for any employee issues within Topshop Head Office. Each day is really varied; one minute I could be scheduling the next Brand Induction, the next I’m drawing up contracts for employees in London or New York.

The best thing about my job is… Working for such an amazing brand and the people!

When I was growing up I wanted to be… A singer or dancer – something performance related, but I’m glad that this never transpired and I think my friends and family are too!

I couldn’t do my job without… A constant supply of caffeine! And definitely the support of my team and also the Topman HR team.

My advice to students hoping to crack the fashion industry would be… To read lots of blogs or start your own, always keep up-to-date with trends, be original and persevere!

My signature style is… An eclectic mix of messy boho with a hint of rock.

And my hero piece for this season is… My camo military jacket from the Edited range – it’s amazing, everyone should have one!

When I’m in London, my hottest hangouts are… Anywhere in East London, but I really like Callooh Callay and The Book Club!

And when I’m in my hometown I love hanging out… Around the Northern Quarter – there are so many cool and quirky bars there…

I can’t live without… The internet, my phone, music or my MAC lipstick – the essentials!

My favourite magazine is… LOVE.

I love grabbing my lunch from… Crussh or Itsu.

On my iPod right now is… Rudimental ft. John Newman, Feel the Love – I’ve got it on constant repeat!

As a special treat, I love to… Venture to Hummingbird Bakery for a Red Velvet Cupcake.

In five years I’d like to be… HR Manager, preferably in the New York office!
