What… Maarten Van Der Horst – the man behind those gorgeous Hawaiian print blazers you may have spotted girls wearing over London Fashion Week!

Where… 50 St James. Amidst a spectacular chandelier, gilded mirrors and grand fireplace.

Who… Music and the creme-de-la-creme of the British press. Topshop’s favourite songstress, Delilah sat front row alongside Vogue Editor-in-Chief Alexandra Schulman, Guardian Fashion Editor Jess Cartner-Morley, Times Fashion Editor Lisa Armstrong and model Laura Bailey.

The collection in 5 words… Plastic bags, glitter sharks & logos!

Playlist… Hearing Mariah Carey on arrival was all we needed to know it was going to be a good show!

What we loved… The shameless extravagance! Subway, Tesco and Pret-a-Manger logos all got a cheeky reference in Van Der Horst’s plastic looking halter dresses. The oversized grafitti jackets and transparent macs also seemed like the perfect spring piece for layering.

Hero piece… It was Van Der Horst’s simpler khaki shirt-dress donned in glitter animal prints that caught our eye.

Hair loving… Justin Bieber goes to Camden! A huge side fringe that swept across one eye into a strong point but doused with enough gel and spray to give it a substantial grunge vibe.

Beauty notes… Liquid-lined cats eyes with a heavily bronzed lid.

Inspired by… The humble plastic bag!
