What… J.W.Anderson – both London and Topshop’s current sweetheart.
Where… The Topshop Showspace, Bedford Square where all we could see were girls wearing J.W.Anderson. There was a great atmosphere in the air and we have a sneaking suspicion it was down to Princi’s amazing arancini balls which being washed down with champagne.
Who… Fashion’s hipster scene were out in full force. Girl-about-town Daisy Lowe, model Portia Freeman, actress Tallulah Harlech and Pixie Geldof who was happily chatting away on the knee of Harpers Bazaar Editor at Large, Derek Blasberg. Not forgetting of course, the renowned fashion writers Tim Blanks, Sarah Mower and Cathy Horyn, who’s show reviews are the ones we love checking! All the way from New York and seated front row was miss Azealia Banks who was looking rather fabulous in a fur stole and diamante bindi. There was also super stylist Patti Wilson, Feathers’ buyer Tiffany Hsu who looked amazing in Givenchy and LOVE’s Anders Soelvsten who we found ourselves perching next to!
The show in 5 words… Raw, engineered, boy-girl intelligence.
What we loved… The masculine pin-stripe tailoring contrasted with oversized bows and petite quilted pastel clutches – the epitome of Jonathan’s blurred gender aesthetic. We loved the pretty deconstructed peplums and head-to-toe modern florals too.
Hero piece… The boxy neoprene two-piece: blue on top, white on bottom – it was clean, simple and totally effective – and definitely on every Fashion Editor’s wishlist.
Hair loving… A glossy low ponytail with a severe side parting complete with two slick strands gelled over each ear.
Beauty notes… Sculpted – think strong brows against a barely there palette: light on colour, heavy on iridescence.
Inspired by… ‘The Treatment Room’ – a skeletal laboratory where anything can happen. We can’t wait to see what’s concocted next.
