What… Louise Gray aka the girl that puts the fun in fashion.
Where… The Topshop Showspace, Bedford Square.
Who… Barbie! Dressed head-to-toe in Louise’s designs; she also doubled up as a camera keeping her fellow Front Rowers, Pixie Geldof, Henry Holland, Fashion East Founder Lulu Kennedy and of course, Louise’s sparkly gang of supporters totally snap-happy!
The show in 5 words… Londontastic, wacky, energetic, bold, WOW!
What we loved… The soundtrack: so contagious, the entire Showspace couldn’t help but absorb its energy. And of course, the accessories: in short, fun, fun and more fun! Graffiti’d with the collection name ‘Now What’ and other Louise-style phrases such as ‘Hot’ and ‘Yeah o yeah’, everything from the incredible mirror-effect headgear (courtesy of milliner, Stephen Jones) to the enormous geometric rings and earrings were quite literally engraved with Louise’s signature.
Hero piece… A gorgeous silk bias-cut dress in newsprint, plus the intricate coral and black crochet bomber as seen below!
Hair loving… A messy, backcombed beehive – sometime crowned with Stephen Jones’ epic headpieces.
Beauty notes… Faded-out brows with a cartoon crown pencilled over the top, complete with a blue beauty-spot and matte orange lips.
Inspired by… NOW WHAT – a simple phrase and from there Louise bore her collection – continuing her bold, poptastic and playful aesthetic but this time occasionally stepping out of her colour box to add an unexpected hit of monochrome into the mix.
