What… Michael van der Ham – possibly the sweetest man in fashion with an incredible talent for texture innovation.
Where… The Topshop Showspace, Bedford Square.
Who… Sartorialist Scott Schulman (with camera in hand of course!) seated next to Tank’s Executive Fashion Director, Caroline Issa while Natalie Massenet and her Net-A-Porter entourage sat opposite, amidst fellow fashion heavyweights Taylor Tomasi-Hill and Sarah Mower.
The show in 5 words… A glorious mismatch of intricacy.
What we loved… Everything from the fur-embellished suede Louboutins – especially those of the mint blue variety! To the appliqued mesh overlays, dazzling sequin paillettes and asymmetric hems.
Hero piece… We’re torn between a shamelessly feminine, pink hand-painted dévoré dress that was artfully cinched at the waist with a spearmint belt or the midnight blue sequin-embellished skirt matched with an iridescent ice-cream hued top – both exquisite!
Hair loving… Sleek, glossy and poker straight pulled clean off the face with a slick pleather white Alice-band.
Beauty notes… Orange lips and subtle lilac lids with a fresh, porcelain glow.
Inspired by… A journey through art from the 1920s Harlequin-style graphics of Spanish painter, Joan Miró to Malick Sadibré’s iconic Bamako portrait photography.
