The catwalk

After months of planning, last minute changes, fittings, edits and more than a few late nights, the Topshop Unique SS14 show is done. And what a show it was. Based in London’s magnificent Regent’s Park, our purpose built showspace held a turf catwalk, a gourmet cafe, designer themed deck chairs and chirp lined garden areas where guests were able to pick up all the goings on, images and insight from behind the scenes of Topshop Unique SS14.

The Topshop Cafe and a Chirp point perched in a tree

At 3pm when the Topshop Unique SS14 collection hit the runway it immediately had us dreaming of desert spaces and warmer climes, and we weren’t the only ones. The front row held smiling faces from the celeb and fashion worlds, a comprehensive who’s who of girls we want to be.

Leading the FROW was the one and only Kate Moss who perched next to Arcadia Group CEO Philip Green. Mossy looked as amazing as ever in leopard print jeans and a chic black blazer and was all smiles as she took in the collection inspired by a dreamy summer travelling. Philip Green’s other seatmate, US Vogue editor, Anna Wintour, continued the run of fashion royalty. Decked out in a striking turquoise trench coat, she talked animatedly to her neighbours – oh to have been a fly on the wall for that conversation!

Leading the line of Brit A-listers was model and Topshop fave Daisy Lowe, looking super-hot in a grey cropped Topshop Unique jumper. Her and Les Mis actress Samantha Barks – rocking a must-have PU skater skirt – were groomed to perfection as they gossiped and laughed while eyeing up their picks for next season. The music world gave a strong showing with Ellie Goulding, girl band Haim and drum’n’bass supremo Jess Mills all making an appearance. (Jess Mills especially caused quite a furore amongst the Topshop girls as we enviously took in her dip-dyed locks.)

Revenge star Ashley Madekwe looked super chic in Topshop Unique AW13 red trousers – we’ll be emulating her glamorous style of block coloured separates and slicked back hair. Meanwhile Harley Viera-Newton – DJ extraordinaire and expert at rocking the red lip – went for winter checks in a Topshop midi length kilt.

Completing the line-up of London’s coolest was model and DJ Lady Mary Charteris sporting the Topshop Unique fluffy jumper we’ve been coveting, model Pixie Geldof – who couldn’t stop herself from slipping backstage – DJ and it-girl Atlanta de Cadanet and Skins actress and possibly the coolest girl we’ve ever met, Kaya Scodelario. Actress Hayley Atwell dressed for the weather in an elegant black hat, as did model Suki Waterhouse – who unfortunately didn’t bring her rumoured boyfriend Bradley Cooper, sigh.

Now we’re not normally one to boast, but the cheering, whooping and beaming smiles at the end of show tells us that this collection went down an absolute treat! Re-watch the whole thing and keep on top of all the latest highlights and news on London Fashion Week right here, on
