After three Topshop store launches in Berlin, Düsseldorf and Hamburg we’ve started to get a little excited about German fashion bloggers. Today with our launch in Munich we wanted to shed a little light on one of our favourites. Anjelica Lorenz – better known as Mode Junkie – is a blogger who writes about fashion and everything that comes with it. As soon as we discovered her blog and edgy Scandinavian-style, we were convinced she was a real Topshop girl at heart.

“Full time mommy, workaholic by day and a blogger by night” is her USP. Just like a superhero, not the kind that swaps clothes in phone boxes, but one that is fabulously committed to the world of style and still finds enough time for her cheeky 5-year-old boy. We wanted to know more about this great multitasked and talked fashion, the reason behind her style crush on Mira Duma and her first memory of Topshop.

What inspired the blog name Mode Junkie and how did it start?

I started my blog when I first came to Germany, I didn’t speak the language and I got bored. I thought my blog had to have a name that was a mix between German & English. Mode, which is Fashion in German and Junkie as I’m a real Fashion Junkie inside out.

What do you love about your job?

The most rewarding thing about my job is that I get to go to places I’ve only dreamt of. I remember going through travel magazines with my sister and we would just admire all these pretty locations. And now I’m here and I get to go and see the real deal. And of course, the variety of people I get to meet!

Tell us more about Mode Junkie… What inspires your daily posting?

It started mainly as an outfit blog. But through the years, as I got pregnant and travel more often, it is now a mix of travel, lifestyle, street style and of course my daily outfits!

What’s your first memory of Topshop?

My mom – who lives in London – would send us packages in the Philippines every month and the blouses she sent from Topshop were one of my favourites. Though my favourite memory about Topshop is when I got a hold of an Ashish x Topshop wedges a few years ago, which still are on of my favourite shoes ever. It was my first “designer” shoe.

How would you describe your style?

I have a 5-year-old son, so I think my style has evolved from being quirky to practical, more of the Scandinavian style but still with an edge!

Where do you get inspiration for your next outfit post?

Fashion Weeks are a great inspiration for new outfits. I love looking at these streetstyle icons and adapt their outfits to my style. Miroslava Duma, who is also a mom, is one of my fashion icons!

What are the top tracks on your playlist right now?

You & I by Crystal Fighters and Green Gardens by Laura Mvula.

If you could ransack anyone’s wardrobe, who’s would it be?

Miroslava Duma, for sure!

What are your personal five key pieces for this season?

Leather Jacket, leather dungarees, tartan suit, pink coat and a crisp white shirt.

Do you have a style rule you live by?

When dressing up, always start with the shoes. Everything follows from there!

Are you excited about our opening in Munich?

Definitely. It was about time that Topshop opened in Germany. And I live close to Munich so I don’t have to fly to London anymore just to visit a store!

What are you going to wear for the opening?

My tartan suit which I wore for London Fashion Week as well. I just can’t get enough of that outfit!

Tell us the perfect day out in Munich? What are your hotspots?

After hitting all the fashion spots, a visit to Neuschwanstein (New Swanstone) Castle is definitely a must. Disney didn’t copy it as Sleeping Beauty’s castle for nothing!

What are you planning for the future? Any big projects or adventures?

One thing I’m super excited about is that I will be designing a shoe for a Dutch brand in Autumn/Winter.
