If there’s one thing we know for sure it’s that Colin McDowell knows exactly what he’s talking about when it comes to fashion. McDowell is among the fashion industry’s most respected fashion commentators, the author of over 20 books, and the leading style guru of The Sunday Times Style Magazine for 15 years. Not convinced yet? McDowell has also worked for a decade as a designer and illustrator as well as founding Fashion Fringe, a platform for new designers (our fashion-crush Erdem started there) looking to start their own business. Not to forget his memorable hosts of discussions with Anna Wintour and Mario Testino. And yes, our jaw dropped as well.

As you probably remember we already praised and inhaled his latest coffee table book The Anatomy of Fashion: Why We Dress The Way We Do. The tome combines his taste and rich historical know-how in fashion further demonstrates why he is known as one of the most respected fashion commentators of our generation. To celebrate this frankly gorgeous piece of work McDowell will hold a series of discussions this autumn. First stop: The V&A featuring Justine Picardie, also known as the Editor of Harper’s Bazaar. Picardie is not just a serious fashion buff but the author of five books, including her critically acclaimed memoir, If The Spirit Moves You. And for those who haven’t come across the big news of Picardie’s bestseller yet, you better make some space on your book shelf for her biography on Coco Chanel, The Legend and the Life. We can’t wait to hear what these two serious fashion commentators will bring the table…

Colin McDowell and Justine Picardie will widen your fashion horizons on October 29th at 6.30pm in the V&A. Get your hands on the tickets here. Btw students get a little discount.
