If anyone’s got some serious make-up tricks up their sleeve then it’s going to be make-up artist Anne Sophie Costa. Her beauty masterpieces have appeared in many a cool fashion story (think Dazed and Confused, i-D, Nylon and our very own Topshop shoots), and she’s also made up celebs like Banks and Charli XCX. Here she shares five tricks of the trade to give you next-level make-up…

1. Do your mascara with a lash comb

“Invest in a fine-toothed lash comb and use it with your normal mascara instead of the brush/wand. This gives you perfectly separated, doll-like lashes.”

2. Eyebrow wax is essential

“Shaping your eyebrows with gel or wax opens up your eyes and frames the face. But not many people know that you need to brush the wax upwards to fix them in the perfect position – a tiny trick that will transform your whole beauty look.”

3. Use bronzer on your eyelids

“I can’t live without bronzer and use it for contouring or blush on the cheeks. But when you’re feeling tired, try sweeping some over your eyelids to give your eyes a fresh pop.”

4. Serum is a life saver

“I have really long hair that’s prone to split ends, but smooth on a bit of Shine Drops serum and you’re left with perfectly conditioned hair. It’s such a great product.”

5. ’90s lip gloss is so now

“I’m really into the gloss right now! First use your finger tip to tap a nude, natural lipstick over  your lips to remove any redness, then add a a thin layer of clear lip gloss over the top. It’s a really cool, current look at the moment.”
