Kate Moross for Topshop
Kate Moross for Topshop
Kate Moross, remember where you heard it first,
as this is one name you'll be hearing a lot more in 2008!
With two books on the way, projects for Cadburys and Sony in her portfolio and exciting collaborations with New Era and Nike in the pipeline (not to mention managing her own record label Isomorphs!) Kate Moross is fast becoming one of the most prolific young illustrators and designers to rise out of UK... oh, and did we mention she's only 21!!
With a career that began by creating flyers for London clubs and innovative bands such as The Klaxons and The Mystery Jets, Kate's love of art and music has at last developed into a collaboration with fashion through the launch of her capsule collection of printed t-shirts, vests and hoodies designed exclusively for Topshop.
Playing on her physics background, Kate's hand-drawn motif prints see structured spatial shapes intertwine with astrophysical typography, and the result; a phychadelic trip on a tee!
"This is a great opportunity for me. Topshop have given me the creative freedom and scope to produce something exciting, for a brand new audience... Graphic design is a science as much as it is an art. I aim to explore science and theory through the medium of illustration, which can breathe new life into these subjects and help to communicate them in an exciting way" K. Moross
This Friday, 25 January, Kate will be part of Topshop's first-ever live art installation, which sees Kate create a 'window doodle...' in the Oxford Circus flagship store. For those of you who can't make it down to see Kate in action, the whole event will be filmed by TOPSHOP.COM, so make sure you come back early next week to check it out!
