Going Dutch: Why Amsterdam Isn’t The Only Place Worth Seeing

Chances are, if you’ve been to the Netherlands before, it was probably only to Amsterdam – but that’s far from all there is to see in this European country. To celebrate our brand new Topshop store openings in Rotterdam and The Hague, we asked Dutch influencers CelmatiquePrishella and Robin Balou to show us around their favourite cities…

Rotterdam – Celmatique

“In Rotterdam it’s all about creativity and innovation – plus the people are very down to earth and friendly.”

For food: Altijd In De Buurt
“If you’re looking for a cozy place to just relax, Altijd In De Buurt (Dutch for ‘always around’) is the place to be. Make sure you order the Chicken ‘n Waffles!”

To hang out: Witte De Withstraat Street
“This is the loveliest street in the city and full of bars, restaurants, small diners and shops. One of my favourites is the Chinese restaurant Hung Kee – they’re open until after midnight so perfect after a night out.”

For drinks: BAR & Annabel
“During the summer, this location is transformed into a Biergarten. Expect good music, good people and good vibes in a colourful surrounding.”

For your culture fix: The Boijmans museum
“Visit the Boijmans museum to experience the artistic side of the city – or take some cool photos!”

The Hague – Prishella

For high tea: Hotel des Indes
“This luxury hotel offers the perfect four-course high tea in a gorgeous setting.”

For lunch: Café Pistache
“This place is pretty much Instagram heaven: pastel-coloured walls and good food – what more can you ask for?”

For dinner: Mama Kelly
“Mama Kelly is located in a former factory, so it has a cool industrial vibe going on. The chicken and lobster are great.”

For drinks: Grote Markt
“Grote Markt is a very lively area in the city centre and where most of the bars are located. The crowd is very diverse and everybody will find a place they like.”

The Hague – Robin Balou

For breakfast: Peppermint
“Order the scrambled eggs or an omelet – both are the best you’ll ever taste. I’ve been coming here since I was a little child.

For pizza: Vincenzo’s
“Vincenzo’s is the best Pizza place in the world! I’ve never been to Italy, but because I’ve been to Vincenzo’s I feel like I have.”

To relax: Barbarossa
“This beach club is where I spend most of my time, because it feels like you’re on a holiday. The interior and architecture are so nice, and I highly recommend the Thai Mussels and Flammkuchen.”

For the ultimate dining experience: Jamey Bennet
“Ever heard of shared dining? Well this is the best place to experience it for the first time! It’s perfect for anyone who has problems deciding what to order…”
