Lily Johnston, 20 @lilyinterrupted – Topshop Edinburgh Princes Street

What are you studying and where?

Business Management at Edinburgh Napier University.

What are your favourite hang-outs in your city?

I love Pizza Posto on Nicolson Street, they do a really tasty but affordable pizza. I also like to hang out in the National Museum of Scotland to look at the animal exhibit because it always fascinates me. The Starbucks on Princes Street has the BEST view of Edinburgh Castle. In August I enjoy going to George Square to soak up the nice atmosphere of the Fringe festival.

What’s your ultimate college/uni style tip?

Create a sort of uniform for yourself that is easy to put together in the morning when you’ve not got much time. I find that if I wear a combination of jeans and and a nice top I still feel put together even if I was in a rush. I always bring my big scarf with me too, in case the lecture hall or the library is really cold that day.

What are your favourite pieces at Topshop right now?

Anything with polka dots! I currently have my eye on the square neck spot slip dress and the spot camisole top. I am also in love with Topshop’s jeans – the Straight and Jamie especially. I have too many pairs to count, but my favourite at the moment are the Mid Blue Straight Leg Jeans.

India Moon Clifton, 22 @indiamoon_ – Topshop Brighton

Digital film production in London.

What’s your favourite thing about being a student?

Meeting creative and inspiring people.

What’s your ultimate college/uni style tip?

Mom jeans!!! They are so easy to wear with a tee and trainers, but you can also dress them up with a pair of nice boots and a crop top.

The Ciara trainers and all the basket bags for summer.

Fifi Lovelock, 20 @ffilovelockx – Topshop Oxford

What are you studying and where?

English Literature and Media, Communication and Culture at Oxford Brookes University.

What are your favourite hang-outs in Oxford?

The Westgate shopping centre is great if you want to browse the shops or get a bite to eat and in Jericho you’ll find the best independent eaterys and atmospheric cocktail bars. The main student hang out is definitely Cowley Road – it’s full of bars and the most exquisite international food spots amongst some Insta-worthy graffiti walls!

What do you typically wear to your classes/lectures?

I usually go for a pair of denim culottes or Jamie flares as they are so comfy and casual. I wear them with a simple belt, a cute slogan tee or a flared jumper. Then I add my favourite platform Vans, one of my many baker boy hats and complete with a shacket, leather or denim jacket.

What’s your ultimate college/uni style tip?

Plan your outfits the night before!

What are your favourite pieces at Topshop right now?

At the minute, I am really loving all the pastel, bold-coloured and printed co-ords! Then there are so many great polka-dot pieces – it is such a flattering print and can be styled in so many ways.

Fifi Coughlan, 22 @fificoughlan – Topshop Cork

What are you studying and where?

Film and Screen Media at University College Cork.

What are your favourite hang-outs in your city?

Soma Coffee shop, Cork Coffee Roasters, Crawford Art Gallery, the Franciscan Well, Joes and Bros café.

What is your favourite thing to do in your free time?

Shopping, looking around vintage stores, going for a coffee and lunches and writing articles for Motley, our campus magazine.

What would you never wear to uni?

Something uncomfortable. Or something that you could get cold in, as the Irish weather tends to be four seasons in one day!

What are your favourite pieces at Topshop right now?

The Dree jeans, everything with polka dots on it, chunky trainers and double-breasted suits.

Triona Moloney, 23 @trionamoloney – Topshop Edinburgh Princes Street

What are you studying and where?

Veterinary Nursing at Edinburgh Napier.

What’s your favourite thing about being a student?

Not having the pressure of being deemed an adult yet.

What does a typical college/uni-day look like for you?

Typically I have lectures on pathology from 9am to 1pm, specialised nursing or more clinical training. From 2-5pm we do the more practical work or are in the laboratories doing pharmacology work.

What’s your ultimate college/uni style tip?

Effortless and causal can be cool too. I like to be comfortable in uni and tend to go for a more laid-back look with minimal make up, like a pair of Jamie jeans with a leather biker jacket and either my adidas trainers or Topshop Alfie boots.

Hannah Longbottom, 18 @joannahstyle – Topshop Meadowhall

What are you studying and where?

Criminology at Sheffield College.

What does a typical college/uni-day look like for you?

Pick my outfit, attend my classes that day and then have dinner. If I finish early I’ll head into town and look around some stores or get a bite to eat there.

What do you typically wear to your classes/lectures?

Usually some cropped straight-leg jeans with a graphic tee, always with one of my many pairs of trainers. Comfort is key! To complete the look I’ll add an oversized leather jacket and some layered coin necklaces.

What are your favourite pieces at Topshop right now?

The chunky Ciara trainers are my go-to! I also love the deep V-Cut spotty dress and any pair of wide-leg trousers.

Sophie McPherson, 20 @sophieelizabethmcpherson – Topshop Castlepoint

What are you studying and where?

Fashion, Branding and Communication at Arts University Bournemouth.

What’s your favourite thing about being a student?

Constantly feeling inspired by those around me, fashion-wise but also in general. I love that every student has their own individuality that also comes through in our personal styles.

What’s your ultimate college/uni style tip?

Dress for yourself, no one else! I like wearing heels because it makes me feel better, and anyone should rock what they like. My ultimate style tip is layering, because lecture rooms seem to always be either boiling hot or freezing cold. Thank me later!

What are your favourite pieces at Topshop right now?

I am absolutely loving the co-ords! I’ve just bought this amazing purple skirt suit and I can’t wait to style it. The bags this season are like no other on the high street – they look so luxe.

Alyssa Coker, 20 @alyssacoker – Canterbury Whitefriars

What are you studying and where?

I’m studying Psychology at the Canterbury Christ Church University.

What’s your favourite thing about being a student?

Moving somewhere completely new has opened me up to so many new experiences and opportunities, as well being introducing me to so many people who I consider very important to me now. It certainly gives you a sense of being and individual freedom!

What does a typical college/uni-day look like for you?

I’m writing my dissertation at the moment, so I normally find myself heading out early to find a nice little corner in a coffee shop to set up camp for the day with my laptop. It also means making lots of after-work trips to the library!

What’s your ultimate college/uni style tip?

Nothing should stop you from dressing to your own interpretation of style. I think uni is a great place to discover some of this – but remember that for lectures comfort is key! Especially for that one lecture hall that’s never quite heated correctly…

What are your favourite pieces at Topshop right now?

I’m loving dots at the moment, so I obviously fell in love with our cropped polka-dot trousers. I also love the Ecru shacket and matching trousers.

Tasmine Williams, 20 @tasminewilliams – Topshop Middlesbrough

What are you studying and where?

Fashion Communication at Northumbria University.

What are your favourite hang-outs in your city?

Nancy’s Bordello and The Launderette are the best in Newcastle for a few drinks and some food, as well as their amazing interiors.

What does a typical college/uni-day look like for you?

I wake up at around 6:30am and spend an hour rifling through my wardrobe before FINALLY settling on an outfit. My morning is spent with a coffee in the library, setting out my timetable for the week and gathering research for my projects. After my brain turns to mush I head to Eldon Square for a spot of shopping and food. For the majority of the afternoon I’ll either be in the studio shooting outfits or catching up with my mentors. After I’ve finished my work for the day I’m straight home and in my pjs, most likely with a pizza and my dog.

What would you never wear to uni?

Heels!

What are your favourite pieces at Topshop right now?

The colourful suits are to die for! I’m obsessed with anything bold or patterned so, aside from the dreamy suits, my other favourites are the zebra slip dress and the mustard Netty block-heel mules.
