5 Major Moments At The Louis Vuitton Cruise Show

It’s that time of year again when some of the most historic fashion houses give us a glimpse of the trends we’ll all be wearing next summer with their cruise collections. Louis Vuitton was one of the latest to debut its SS19 collection and it’s safe to say it exceeded all of our expectations. Here are 5 of the major moments we enjoyed…

1. The venue

Taking place in the sculpture gardens of Fondation Maeght in Saint-Paul de Vence, south of France, the show venue was a geometrical delight that complemented the sculptural silhouettes perfectly.

2. The front row

Stars that graced the all-important front row included long-time brand ambassadors Emma Stone in glittery trousers, Jennifer Connelly wearing a voluminous colour-block top and striped trousers and Léa Seydoux in a patterned dress paired with a boxy jacket.

3. The update on a key trend

One of this season’s favourite trends, the ‘dad trainer’, resurfaced – this time revamped as a thigh-high version. Don’t have pockets quite as deep as attendees Emma Stone or Léa Seydoux? We’ve got covered with our coveted Ciara version here.

4. The make-up

Known for her eccentric beauty looks, Pat McGrath didn’t disappoint. Models had their foreheads emblazoned with flames and roses. Natural no-makeup makeup balanced it all out to give a minimal healthy glow.

5. The collab

One of fashion’s most treasured figures, Grace Coddington, collaborated with the brand to create one-off pieces. Coddington worked with Louis Vuitton’s Creative Director Nicholas Ghesquiére to create a capsule creation of ready-to-wear and leather goods as an ode to her cats Pumpkin and Blanket. Who says we can’t bring our animals to work?
