It’s the Brit Awards tonight! As we gear up for another year of music and anticipate what the stars will be wearing this evening, we couldn’t forget some of the most elaborate looks and awe-worthy moments that have happened over the years. From a lace-detailed gown courtesy of Lady Gaga to a an Iconic RuPaul & Elton John moment, these are the moments we couldn’t forget…
1. Sade and Prince – 1985
Prince graced the stage at the awards in 1985 winning Best International Solo Artist, wearing a lavish mix of a metallic pussy-bow blouse, patterned trousers and fur stole. Soul singer Sade also attended the awards, topping off an iconic guest list.
2. Elton John and Ru Paul – 1994
RuPaul and Elton John serenaded the crowd with a rendition Don’t Go Breaking My Heart. The definition of iconic.
3. Spice Girls – 1997
In 1997, the Spice Girls swiped an array of awards and took to the stage with an explosive performance of Wannabe and Who Do You Think You Are, with Geri Halliwell in that Union Jack dress.
4. Cher and Whitney Houston – 1999
1999 was the year of the diva for the Brits. Both Cher and Whitney Houston took to the stage, performing their hits Do You Believe In Love and It’s Not Right But It’s Okay.
5. Destiny’s Child – 2001
Destiny’s Child hit the red carpet in co-ordinated cut-out green sequin dresses providing outfit inspo for decades to come.
6. Amy Winehouse and Mark Ronson – 2008
The late Amy Winehouse performed the smash hit Valerie with Mark Ronson while sporting her signature beehive and cat-eye make-up.
7. Lady Gaga – 2010
Lady Gaga stole the show back in 2010, draped in a flamboyant floor-length cape by Franceso Scognamigilio and lace mask by Philip Treacy.
