5 Make Up Looks To Wear To Notting Hill Carnival

Notting Hill Carnival is just around the corner and whilst you may be frantically planning your outfits, your make up looks are just as important for packing that street party punch. Bright lipsticks, glittering eye palettes and all the gemstones are on our checklist for the ultimate carnival look – and since we’re expecting some hot weather, we’re keeping things low maintenance too. Here are five looks to create using our very own Topshop beauty

1. Face gems

If there’s ever a time to cover your face in gemstones, it’s carnival. Start with a perfected base using our Long-Wear Liquid Foundation and apply our Multicoloured Face Gems above the brows, under the eyes and on the forehead using eyelash adhesive. Then apply the lashes to make sure your eyes don’t get lost. Keep the lips simple with a shimmer gloss.

2. Glitter brows

Take your brow game to the next level with a line of glitter on the brow bone. Start by defining your brows with a pencil and add some brow gel to keep them in place. Using a cream glitter of your choice from our Glitter and Glow Face Palette and a small detail brush, apply a small line of glitter underneath your brow following their shape. Keep the glitter look going by spritzing our glitter body mist from head to toe.

3. Blue liner

Put a twist on the classic cat eye flick by using some bold blue shadow instead of the usual black liquid liner. Dampen your eyeliner brush with our make up fixing mist and use our matte eyeshadow in Genie to create the graphic flick. Stick to a bright colour palette and complete the look with an orange-red lip to stand out from any crowd.

4. Fuchsia lip

If you want to keep things simple, go for a glowing and fresh base and leave your eyes bare to make the fuchsia matte lip the focus of your look. Complete with some extra fluffy brows and a sweep of bronzer, this look is totally effortless but all the more effective.

5. Sunset eyes

We’re counting on hot weather this bank holiday, so match the heat with your beauty look. Using a fluffy brush, apply bright orange and pink shadows (or blushers!) all over the eyes, down onto the cheekbones and around the brow. Go for full-on drama with a black, bright orange or pink lip.
