5 DIY Beauty Treatments To Do At Home

Whether you’re looking for a new hobby or some relaxation after a long day of working from home, DIY beauty treatments are a great way to spend your time right now. From learning how to do nail art to making your own body scrub or giving your hair the expert care it needs, keep scrolling to discover five easy ways to pretend like your bathroom is a professional beauty salon…

1. Nail art

If you’ve always wanted to learn how to do those elaborate nail designs you keep seeing on Instagram, now’s the time. Wave goodbye to basic pinks and reds and experiment with some nail art: from flowers to rainbows or stars, there’s no limit to what you could come up with. Just make sure you watch some tutorials first, invest in some good polishes and order some nail art brushes so you’re good to go like a pro…

2. A homemade coffee body scrub

Did you know that coffee is actually a natural exfoliator? If you can’t restock your favourite body scrub right now, just make your own one from ingredients you already have in your cupboard: simply mix together 1/2 cup of fresh ground coffee, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup coconut oil and 1 tsp vanilla extract. The grounds will work to gently remove dead skin cells and help rejuvenate, boost circulation and leave you with youthful, glowing and silky-smooth skin. You’re welcome.

3. Steam baths

Missing the steam room at your gym? Don’t worry, because there’s actually a way to mimic its effects at home. Here’s how: cool down your bathroom, plug the draining system of your shower or bath and turn on the hot water tap. Now, close the shower curtain and enjoy the steam – but make sure you have a cold towel at the ready to dab onto your face if it gets too hot. After 10 minutes, take a cold shower and make sure you rehydrate afterwards.

4. Homemade face masks

#selfcaresunday The best day for an at-home treatment. One of our favourites is @owayofficial's Rebuilding Hair Mask as it's formulated with Iris, Basil, Teak and Mahogany, and suitable for most hair types. Iris has refreshing and invigorating properties for dull and matt hair, basil adds moisture and shine, teak strengthens and has anti-bacterial properties and mahogany is energising for the hair. All ingredients are ethical, cruelty free, organic and bio-dynamic. Take care of yourself (and the planet) this weekend. 🌎 #sustainablesalon #organicsalon #ecofriendlysalon #organichaircare #sustainablebeauty #sustainableliving #ecofriendly #ecofriendlyhair #crueltyfreehaircare #parabenfree #biodynamicfarming

Staying indoors can leave your hair feeling dry, so make sure you take extra care of it at the moment. Deep hair conditioning is one of the best ways to nourish and repair damaged hair and there are actually plenty of ways you can do it at home. For example: applying apple cider vinegar to your hair can help fight dryness and leave your locks feeling luscious and shiny.
