We’ve been taking inspiration from menswear for as long as we can remember – but boyfriend jeans, oversized blazers and dad jeans are just the beginning. We decided that Topman loungewear is just so good that we want it for ourselves, which is why an edit of their best pieces are now stocked on Topshop too! To master the ‘borrowed from the boys’ aesthetic better than ever before, we styled five different outfits both dressed up and down that scream androgynous chic…
1. Co-ordination is key
Co-ords have been our sartorial saviour all lockdown and we’re not planning on letting them go anytime soon. This green combination is super unique and also features a slightly longer length of short which we’ve been seeing everywhere at the moment. Style yours with some chunky trainers and sunglasses to keep it laid-back.
2. Dress it up
A white T-shirt is pretty much the most versatile thing you can have in your wardrobe. Since you’ve probably got the casual looks down, we’ve shown you just how to dress it up for an evening look: simply opt for an oversized fit loosely tucked into some blue denim. To accessorise, add some boots in trending baby blue, a mini bag and some fun earrings.
3. Keep it chilled
Back to a more relaxed look, joggers feel best when they fit slightly looser – we’ve paired these ones with a cropped sweat to bring back a feminine touch. Then, we’ve added some fun trainers and a bright bag for a shout out to the summer months.
4. Totally rockin’
A graphic tee always looks best oversized and tucked into some light denim cut offs. To give it a rocker edge, add a leather-look shacket, some ankle boots and a chain bag. If your friend is planning a festival themed party in their back garden anytime soon – this is what we’d wear…
5. Back in business
Some of us are heading back to work right about now and for the rest of us that day will come around quicker than we think (sorry). To make the transition from pyjamas and joggers to blazers and blouses a little easier, we’d pair a sweatshirt with some formal trousers to channel androgynous chic. You’ll still look smart but remain feeling cosy.
